The charity War Child have confirmed an all star cast for their forthcoming Army Of You show.
War Child are an organisation which have earned a reputation for helping children caught up in violent conflict. All around the world some of the most vulnerable children are caught up in warfare.
Forced to flee their homes, left badly injured or in some cases fighting in the front line, children are often left with little to no help. War Child operates in some of the globe’s most dangerous areas, helping children escape the violence that surrounds them.
The charity has also specialised in blending music with fund raising work. Last year the organisation paired some stellar talents with modern counterparts on their ‘Heroes’ album, linking newcomers with their inspiration.
Amongst the pairings were Bob Dylan and his chosen protégé Beck, who covered the rock poet laureate’s classic song ‘Leopard Skin Pill Box Hat’. However the charity isn’t finished there, recently announcing details of a spectacular single.
War Child have chosen to use The Killers’ song ‘All These Things That I’ve Done’. A festival anthem and a highlight of the band’s live set the charity has undercut its chorus of ‘I’ve got soul but I’m not a soldier’.
A protest at the use of child soldiers in the Third World, the forthcoming single stars a host of top names including VV Brown, N-Dubz, Pixie Lott and many more. Drawing attention to an admirable cause, War Child have once again succeeded in proving their point.
The charity organise an annual gig named ‘Army Of You’. A rolling revue of talent it is set to return this year with War Child set to take over the Rabernacle venue in London’s Notting Hill area.
Featuring a host of music, Jeremy Warmsley and Alan Pownall are due to open the night with performances in the venues courtyard. Following this the night features live sets from Filthy Dukes, We Have Band and a DJ set from renowned comic Mat Horne.
