Irish group Villagers have added a series of extra tour dates, including a Fleet Foxes support slot.
Released last year, Villagers’ debut album was a critical success. Barely making a ripple in the British charts, the album gathered steam after receiving a nomination for the Mercury Music Prize.
Since then, the group have enjoyed cult status. Repeated British tours have exposed them to a wider audience, with venues increasing in size – an upcoming tour contains a date at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire.
Due to return to the UK for a brief trip, Villagers have added a series of headline dates. Confirmed as the main support on tours from Elbow and Fleet Foxes, the band are also due to tour under their own steam.
Opening on May 9th in Preston, the tour continues with dates in Newcastle, Birmingham and more. Villagers are set to play twice at the Great Escape, with full band and solo acoustic sets announced.
Continuing with dates in Oxford, Edinburgh, Manchester and more Villagers are set to play Shepherds Bush Empire on May 21st. The London show is newly confirmed, with tickets on sale now.
Elsewhere, Villagers have been added to the bill for a one off show by Fleet Foxes. The American group are set to play The Eden Sessions in Cornwall, and have invited the Irish band along.
Due to hit the festival trail over the summer, tickets for all headline shows from Villagers are on sale now.

9 Preston 53 Degrees
10 Newcastle Riverside
12 Brighton Great Escape (solo)
