Vampire Weekend Intimate London Show

Plus new single due

New York based Afro-pop outfit Vampire Weekend are set to play an intimate show London’s Kings College.

Vampire Weekend have never lost their love for small shows. Sure, the enormous success of ‘Contra’ may have flung them into the arena world but the band are always eager to cram themselves into some unusual venue.

Playing their first shows at friend’s parties, Vampire Weekend have since broken through to the mainstream. ‘Contra’ was a critical and commercial success, seeing the New York group earn their place on the cover of Clash Magazine.

The band first previewed material from the album during a show at London’s Kings College last year. Vampire Weekend obviously enjoyed their spell at the institution, with the New Yorkers set to return later this month.

Taking place on Wednesday (May 26th) the new show will be staged in association with MTV. A much smaller venue than they are now accustomed to, tickets for the Vampire Weekend show go on sale soon.

Meanwhile, Vampire Weekend are preparing themselves for an extremely busy summer. Always a festival favourite, the New Yorkers are playing Scotland’s wildest party RockNess next month.

Taking to the stage just before The Strokes, the performance will launch a host of festival appearances.

With their new single ‘Holiday’ due for release on June 7th it seems that the summer could belong to Vampire Weekend.

Vampire Weekend have confirmed the following show:

May
26 London Kings College
