A small amount of tickets for next summer’s instalment of V Festival are set to go on sale at this year’s prices.
This year’s V Festival was a huge success. Spread over two sites in Chelmsford and Staffordshire, the event attracted tens of thousands of music fans to gorge themselves on a highly eclectic bill.
Sure, Oasis were forced to pull out but organisers managed to string together a bill that included some sensational surprises. Lady Gaga performed, with British singer Lily Allen played a typically naughty set.
However the biggest surprise of the weekend came when Amy Winehouse emerged onstage with reformed 2-Tone giants The Specials. The ‘Back To Black’ singer gave her first British performance in a year, running through a medley of ska classics.
Thanking the crowd, Winehouse left to a huge ovation from the Main Stage audience. Now fans who can’t wait until next summer can snap up tickets for 2010.
Available from August 25th, tickets will cost £132.50 for a weekend pass, and £152.50 for weekend pass with camping. The tickets will be on sale for up to a week or until the undisclosed limited number sell out.
“We really want to give fans the chance to buy tickets for next year’s festival at this year’s prices, as it means they can be first in the queue for next year’s festival and save a few quid in the process,” says V Festival director Simon Moran.
He added: “V Festival has a great history of brilliant line-ups, and next year will be no exception. We’re looking forward to it already!”
Next year will see V Festival celebrate its 15th event since beginning back in 1996.
