Turning Point Returns To London

With appearances from Toddla T and more

Turning Point is set to return to London with a line up curated by a group of under 25 year olds.

Since the 60s perceptions about the power and potential of young people has been shifting. For many, youthful energy is something which can power the arts, demolishing perceptions with wit and verve.

Aiming to harness a chunk of this energy, Turning Point is a new event which puts young people in charge. Taking control of London’s historic Roundhouse venue, organisers have allowed people under the age of 25 to program the event.

The result is a bill which reflects new music in Britain. Professor Green will continue his rise to the top with a high profile appearance, while grime crew Roll Deep are also due to appear at Turning Point.

On a more underground tip, Sheffield dancehall producer Toddla T is also set to take part. Now signed to Ninja Tune, the producer is close to completing work on his second album which was partially recorded in Jamaica.

Set to play a new DJ set, Toddla T is amongst the latest additions to Turning Point. Other new names on the bill include Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, who recently scored a ClashMusic ‘Single Of The Week’.

Mixing dancehall, UK funky and electro into one wholesome package, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs are set to DJ at The Roundhouse. Alongside this, Turning Point will feature a live circus, comedy, theatre and more.

Opening on September 17th fans can expect a series of surprise guests on the night. In total, Turning Point will be spread across three days, with five stages and almost three hundred artists taking part.

Newly announced performer Ms Dynamite praised the festival: “What’s unique and super exciting about this festival is that it’s all arranged and totally done by young people. I’m really excited to just be getting on stage!”

All under one big roof, tickets for Turning Point are on sale now.

Turning Point is due to take place between September 17th – 19th.
