tUnE-yArDs are gearing up for a new European tour, featuring extensive British dates.
Oakland isn’t the most salubrious of neighbourhoods. Placed out on the West Coast, the town’s music scene recently spewed out ‘w h o k i l l’ – the remarkable second album from tUnE-yArDs.
Essentially a vehicle for Merrill Garbus, the producer has focussed her interests in noise on the pop song. A ground breaking, inspiring listen ‘w h o k i l l’ has pushed tUnE-yArDs out of the underground.
Live, Garbus is joined by a number of guests. Long time collaborator Nate Brenner plays bass in the live set up, while the producer has been planning to introduce a saxophone section for some time.
Recently completing an American tour with a sold out show in Brooklyn, tUnE-yArDs are now planning to visit Europe. Their first visit to the continent in a year, the Portland project have included an extensive series of British shows.
Opening in London on June 8th, the show at the Scala is already sold out. Moving around the country, tUnE-yArDs are also set to perform in Manchester, Aberdeen and Glasgow.
Appearing in Ireland on June 17th, a one off show in Dublin will be followed by dates in Leeds, Bristol and more. Ending in Brighton on June 21st, the show at the Green Door Store will be followed by a flight back out to the United States.
Planning further shows on the West Coast, the new tour will see tUnE-yArDs bring ‘w h o k i l l’ to life.
