Sheffield multi-venue festival Tramlines is set to return in July for its second instalment of musical mayhem.
Tramlines came from a late night brain storming session between some well known Sheffield musicians. Arctic Monkeys star Matt Helders joined forces with Jon McClure and Toddla T to host the festival.
Taking place at venues across the city, Tramlines was an enormous success. Showcasing new talent from Sheffield and beyond it was a timely reminder of just how potent the city’s music scene has been.
Returning for its second instalment, Tramlines is due to take place between July 23rd – 25th. Using a total of fifty venues the festival will feature a wide range of music reflecting the tastes of the three curators.
Headliners this year include Liverpool legends Echo And The Bunnymen, Blood Red Shoes and Mystery Jets. With their third album already being hyped as a career defining moment, the Eel Pie Island group are on fine form.
With so many different acts confirmed, there are obviously varying tastes to cater for. With the likes of Rolo Tomassi and Blood Red Shoes performing, pop kids will also be kept entertained by the likes of Craig David and Dane Bowers.
Long ago relegated to comedy TV fodder, the pair will unite for the Tramlines event with more announced set to be made shortly.
Meanwhile on the dance front, DJ sets have been confirmed from the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Mary Anne Hobbs and many more.
Tramlines takes place between July 23rd – 25th.
