Todd Rundgren To Play London

1973 album 'A WIzard..' gets re-visited

Iconic American guitar visionary Todd Rundgren will play a massive show next February which will see him perform his ’73 album ‘A Wizard, A True Star’ in its entirety for the first time ever.

Famed for both his production work and penning a mammoth catalogue of progressive albums himself, Rundgren famously manned the desk to create classic albums for NY misfits New York Dolls and punk-funk icons XTC, among countless others.

Now Rundgren is set to return to the London Hammersmith Apollo next February , to play the LP in its entirety.

Officially released in 1973, ‘A WIzard, A True Star’ is an ambitious collection that broke the record for the longest LP in the world upon its release. Clocking in at just under an hour, ‘A WIzard..’ was a bolt-from-the-blue, sprawling psychedelic assault that bewildered and captivated music fans upon its release.

Now regarded as a minor classic, everyone from Hot Chip to Beck has been praising Rundgren. The singer then announced last year he would play the LP once in the U.S., with a U.K. date now also being added for next year.
