Todd Rundgren Announces Intimate UK Shows

Rare dates confirmed

Todd Rundgren have announced plans for a series of intimate UK shows later this year.

Todd Rundgren is an utterly unique figure. Leading the cult 60s power pop outfit The Nazz, the songwriter turned producer has worked on some of the best selling albums ever made. Helming sessions for ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ the producer has built up a eclectic – at times baffling – solo discography.

Returning to the UK last year, Todd Rungren performed his cult classic ‘A Wizard, A True Star’. Initially released in 1973, the milestone album came as the producer continued to push boundaries.

A huge fan of technology, Todd Rungren was one of the first artists to realise the value of the internet. Introducing multimedia elements to his music, the composer has continued to investigate the world wide web ever since.

Now the producer is planning to look back. Arranging a series of British shows, the intimate dates have been billed in the Stateside press as “The greatest hits tour his fans have been waiting to see for years.”

Delving into his back catalogue, Todd Rungren will perform tracks from throughout his career. Opening in Manchester’s Ritz venue on October 1st, the short run of dates continues with a triple bill in London.

Playing the Jazz Cafe, the back to back nights will feature Todd Rungren delving into his discography. Set to play both well known and rare cuts, the intimate shows mark a return to the UK for the American producer.

Tickets went on sale this morning (June 28th).

Todd Rungren is due to play the following shows:

October
1 Manchester Ritz
3 London Jazz Cafe
4 London Jazz Cafe
5 London Jazz Cafe
