American group Titus Andronicus have confirmed a lengthy series of British shows this November.
Titus Andronicus seem to have a little more ambition than most bands. The American group’s sprawling debut won them a cult following, but with their follow up ‘The Monitor’ the band have exploded preconceptions.
A stunning return, ‘The Monitor’ is a lengthy concept album focussing on the American Civil War. An extremely potent piece of songwriting, it contained quotes from Abraham Lincoln and even some bagpipes.
Not without its flaws, the album’s ceaseless ambition sees it through. A stunning work, ‘The Monitor’ was rewarded with excited reviews with Titus Andronicus left to attempt and play the material live.
The band arranged a series of tour dates earlier this year, taking ‘The Monitor’ to the UK. Spending the summer touring across the United States, the group unusually decided to play only instores.
Supporting independent music, Titus Andronicus played a lengthy series of shows across the United States. Now the band are preparing to return to the UK, arranging a lengthy nationwide tour.
Opening in Brighton on November 17th, the tour moves across the country taking in dates at Nottingham, Glasgow and Sheffield. Ending in Dublin on November 27th, Titus Andronicus are also set for a high profile appearance at London’s Scala venue.
Support slots on the tour have yet to be confirmed, with tickets due to go on sale later this month.
