Tiffany Calver has launched a new warm-up DJ competition.
The broadcaster steps down for her stint as host of the Rap Show this Saturday (March 25th), after holding down the slot for four and a half years. Acting as a one-woman platform for new rap talent, Tiffany Calver has broken many glass ceilings in her time.
Vowing to give something back, her farewell party at London’s Village Underground will feature a slew of surprises. Bringing her huge No Requests parties to East London, she’ll sign off on one era, and open a fresh chapter.
Set to spearhead a new Tiffany Calver Show on 1Xtra this coming June, she’ll be completely free to play what she wants – without genre lines, or barriers. Alongside this, she’s looking for a warm-up DJ to open for her this coming Saturday.
The DJ will be picked from entries sent to her, and will play a 60 minute set in front of the capacity crowd. Alongside this, Tiffany will also be offering DJ + mentorship sessions to three runners up.
Tiffany Calver comments…
“Stepping straight out of my final show and into the rave at Village Underground for a four hour super set, and I want the perfect opening DJ to add to the line-up. When I first started DJing I found it really hard to get bookings because often times promoters just booked the people they knew. So I know just how important it is to get those first few flyers under your belt.”
“No Requests is a brand new club night that boasts no rules, or lanes to the music played. It is about sharing and showcasing the music you love without barriers. This is an event for music lovers.”
