Thurston Moore is set to play a one off show in London performing his 1995 album ‘Psychic Hearts’ in its entirety.
Strange days for Sonic Youth fans. The band recently confirmed the re-release of ‘Hits Are For Squares’ – a ‘greatest hits’ of sorts hand picked by some celebrity fans including Eddie Vedder, Mike Watt and more.
Accompanied by the re-issue of ‘1991: The Year That Punk Broke’ the bounty of exciting releases seemed to be never ending. And then Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon announced their separation.
The pair have been married for 27 years, but recently confirmed that they had separated. Sonic Youth will complete a South American tour later this year, but refused to discuss plans beyond this.
Thurston Moore is set to make a solo visit to the UK later this year. The guitarist released his new solo album ‘Demolished Thoughts’ this summer, with Beck handling production duties on the reflective material.
Swapping his de-tuned electric guitars for acoustic arrangements, Thurston Moore exposed another side to his songwriting. Receiving widespread acclaim, the songwriter will play a number of British dates later this year.
Set to perform a one off show in London, the guitarist has now added a second date in which he will re-visit his 1995 solo album ‘Psychic Hearts’. Taking place on December 3rd, the show at London’s Electric Ballroom will be part of ATP’s Don’t Look Back season.
The line up for both shows will comprise: Thurston Moore, Samara Lubelski , Mary Lattimore, Keith Wood and John Maloney.
