Glastonbury announced the bulk of their line up earlier this year, leaving one headline slot tantalisingly empty.
Since then, enormous speculation has surrounded the slot. Could Prince perform at Worthy Farm? Were The Stone Roses set to make good on their 1995 no-show?
In the end, The Who have claimed the honours. Currently embarking on a 50th anniversary tour, the legendary rock outfit will perform at Glastonbury on June 28th.
Singer Roger Daltrey said: “It’s great to be ending this part of a 50-year career at the most prestigious and respected music festival in the world. We'll do our best to close this year's event with a bang, unless of course the fireworks get wet.”
Glastonbury runs between June 25th – 28th.
