The Walkmen are set to play a series of nationwide dates after confirming a November tour.
Will indie wither in the modern age? It seems that in the current climate fans are not in the mood for filthy, sexy rock ‘n’ roll leaving bands such as New York outfit The Walkmen in a quandary.
Returning with their new album ‘Lisbon’ the band have caught the energy of their early recordings. Full to the brim of sleazy energy, the album is nonetheless an artistic step forward for the band.
The Walkmen have grown old disgracefully, retaining the jagged edges of their leather clad guitar lines. ‘Lisbon’ is out now, and has gained warm reviews with the New Yorkers crafting perhaps their most complete album to date.
Returning to the UK, the band have confirmed a series of tour dates. The Walkmen are set to support The Black Keys on an upcoming tour, matching the duo’s blues riffs to their Big Apple charm.
Opening in Glasgow on October 28th, the nationwide tour takes in venues across the country. Finishing in Bournemouth on November 7th, tickets for those dates are on sale now.
In addition to this, The Walkmen have confirmed a number of headline dates. Opening in the freezing weeks of January, the New Yorkers will get indie fans hot under the collar starting with Glasgow’s Oran Mor on January 19th.
Ending in Brighton on January 26th, tickets for the headline shows go on sale from 9am this Friday (October 22nd).
