Dundonian indie rascals The View are set to play a special set at the final of the Red Stripe Music Award.
Casting their net across the country, Red Stripe recently sought out some of the finest new acts in the UK. The Red Stripe Music Award will be presented to one lucky act, who will be whittled down from an initial group of 150.
Along the way a lot of music has been played, and a hell of a lot of Red Stripe has been consumed. The night before may be hazy, but the music won’t be forgotten with four finalists making their way to London.
Taking place on April 28th, the final of the Red Stripe Music Award will feature Devon songwriter Patrick James Pearson. Energetic yet witty folk songwriting, he has been gaining much support across the South East.
Portsmouth band Hold Fast will be familiar to some, following their support slot on tour with White Lies and The Joy Formidable last year. 80s influenced, the band aren’t some retro experiment but have their own distinct sound.
Manchester’s Laurel Collective are old friends of ClashMusic, in fact we gave away some of their early demos via the site. A multi-national six piece collective, the band intriguingly use two frontmen.
Finally, Edinburgh’s Come On Gang are set to perform. The trio have gathered a cult following in Scotland where Auld Reekie is fast replacing Glasgow as the nation’s hot spot for bands.
Alongside this, The View will be performing. The indie stars recently moved from their hometown of Dundee to Liverpool in order to focus on their third album, and could be set to unveil some new tracks at Heaven.
With the winner of the Red Stripe Music Award set to be announced on the night, the show could change the career of one lucky act.
