Scottish indie rockers The View have been added to the line up for this summer’s Hop Farm festival.
Hop Farm is a relatively new event, which has been driven on by the ambition of its founder Vine Power. The man responsible for the Mean Fiddle empire, Power has battled the local council to expand Hop Farm which this year takes place over two days.
Previously announced headliners include Brit award winner Paul Weller. Sure to be a favourite with festival goers, Weller is capable of drawing on a thirty years career that rarely dips below excellent.
Joining the Modfather on the bill are returning Manchester heroes Doves and The Pigeon Detectives. Amongst the latest additions to proceedings are The View, who have a chequered history of playing festival dates.
A recent performance at Snowbombing in Austria fell into chaos after singer Kyle Falconer collapsed onstage. Too drunk to stand, the band attempted to play without him before exiting to a chorus of boos and catcalls.
However The View also headlined the Clash Arena at RockNess last year, playing a stunning set that saw them preview their second album ‘Which Bitch?’ as fans queued outside in an attempt to catch a glimpse of their heroes.
Other new additions to the line up include Bell X1, Birmingham heroes Johnny Foreigner and Northern Ireland hit machine Ash. No longer fresh young things, Ash have matured into one of Britain’s finest singles acts and will be sure to take along their fair share of summer anthems.
Hop Farm festival takes place between July 4th – 5th.
