The View have confirmed a lengthy series of massive shows beginning in April.
Dundonian indie bandits The View do things the old fashioned way. Living and working in Liverpool for the past year, the group managed to lay down more than twenty tracks for their third album.
Produced by Youth, the material was eventually whittled down to a mere dozen songs. Titled ‘Bread And Circuses’ the album matches the energy of their debut with a more mature songwriting approach.
Completing a British tour last year, The View chose to stick to intimate shows. Breaking in new material, the shows saw the band return to their roots with a series of tiny venues including the odd pub date or two.
Currently in London, The View are set to play two shows at the Old Blue Last this week. The tiny shows serve as a warm up, with the Dundonian band planning a massive tour later this Spring.
Opening in April, The View will kick off the tour with a show in their hometown. Dundee’s Caird Hall is more used to flower shows and trade union conferences, but will reverberate again to the strains of the indie outlaws.
Moving around the country, the band have confirmed shows in Glasgow, Sheffield, Leeds and more. The group will return to London on April 20th for a show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire before the tour wraps up in Coventry on April 22nd.
Tickets are due to go on sale from Friday (February 4th).
