The Ting Tings To Headline Wakestock

Welsh festival expands bill

Salford duo The Ting Tings are to headline this year’s instalment of Welsh music festival Wakestock.

Wales – the land of song. Yet despite a glut of top talent the country lacks a stand out event on the scale of say, T In The Park or Oxegen. With attendance creeping up every year, Wakestock could be set to put Wales on the festival map.

Held in Abersoch between July 2nd – 4th, Wakestock is set to return for another instalment. The festival will boast some top talent, mixing established acts with hotly tipped newcomers from Wales and beyond.

The Ting Tings created a monster with their debut album ‘We Started Nothing’. Spawning several hit singles the band dominated the festival scene with their performances causing bedlam across the country.

Departing to Berlin to work on their new album, The Ting Tings are set to return later this year. Scheduling their second album for release in the summer, the Salford duo are planning a headline performance at Wakestock.

Charging the Welsh festival, the band join a bill brimming with talent. Newcastle punk-funk tykes Maximo Park are due to perform, joined by the likes of Plan B and British rap sensation Tinie Tempah.

Grime star Wiley is also set to perform, with Cardiff based indie collective Los Campesinos! representing the Welsh underground scene.

With tickets still available, Wakestock organisers are working day and night to put the finishing touches to the bill.

Wakestock takes place between July 2nd – 4th.
