The Streets have confirmed details of a major British tour ahead of their final album.
It’s been a helluva decade. When Mike Skinner formed The Streets the World Trade Center was still standing and the ‘boom-bust’ economy had been fixed – forever, we were told.
Over the past ten years The Streets have achieved enormous fame and critical recognition, blending melancholic observations of British life with post-garage production.
Almost finished their final album, The Streets are due to release ‘Computer & Blues’ early next year. An emotional climax to the band’s career, the band are set to head out on a major tour in the Spring.
The Streets have confirmed a host of British tour dates, kicking off in February. The Birmmingham street poet will spend the year saying farewell to fans, starting at Edinburgh’s Picture House on February 18th.
After this, the band will travel across the UK playing several high profile shows. Returning to Birmingham on February 25th, The Streets will play a no doubt emotional hometown show at the O2 Academy.
Elsewhere, the band will play shows in Brighton, Manchester, Bristol and more before the tour comes to a close.
Finishing with a date in the Brixton Academy, The Streets will complete their Spring tour on March 5th. Expect a series of festival dates and one off shows to be announced in the New Year.
Meanwhile, tickets for the Spring tour are set to go on sale from Wednesday (November 10th).
