The Stone Roses For Isle Of Wight

Seminal Mancs to headline

The Stone Roses are set to headline next year's Isle of Wight festival.

Winter may be drawing in, but for the team behind the Isle of Wight festival summer can't come quick enough. Preparations are already well under way, with organisers confirming a very special headline performance this morning (November 26th).

The Stones Roses are set to headline the Isle of Wight festival, in what has been billed as a UK exclusive. The legendary group were one of this summer's true highlights, performing an epic three night stand at Heaton Park before thousands of adoring fans.

Playing a number of festival slots, it seems that next summer The Stone Roses will be slightly more selective. Set to perform at the Isle of Wight festival, the announcement was welcomed by the team behind the summer event.

John Giddings, the Festival’s promoter, says: “When you talk about the soundtrack of our lives, The Stone Roses are embedded in it. I am so proud to get them to our island- they will kick the weekend off with a bang.”

Tickets for the festival go on sale from 9am this Wednesday (November 28th). Vodafone customers will have an exclusive 48-hour pre-sale from today.

The Isle of Wight festival runs between June 13th – 16th.
