The Roots, De La Soul, The Pharcyde For South Facing Festival

A hip-hop celebration in South London...

The Roots, De La Soul, and The Pharcyde will hit South Facing Festival this summer.

The festival takes place in Crystal Palace Bowl, and always attracts an eclectic line-up. This summer, a one-day special has been arranged, featuring some of the finest names from the golden age of hip-hop.

The Roots will perform in Crystal Palace Bowl, matching incredible musicianship to their stellar catalogue. From ‘Things Fall Apart’ to their latter-day heights, the band remain a nigh-on unmatched live force within American hip-hop.

Alongside that, De La Soul will bring their joyous hits to South Facing Festival – last year saw the group finally bring their esteemed catalogue to streaming services after a lengthy legal wrangle.

The Pharcyde are rightly classed as legends, with hits such as the Dilla-produced ‘Runnin’ Away’ pivoting between left-field ideas and club sounds. A righteous concert force, they complete the first three names on this exceptional bill.

Rob Waller, promoter, Soundcrash comments…

We are so excited in bringing together one of the greatest hip-hop line-ups in the last ten years featuring three truly groundbreaking live hip hop acts. We are making this into a real celebration of the genre and we’ll be featuring plenty of special guest rappers and DJs to boot.

We are following in the footsteps of some of the most legendary London gigs that also took place at Crystal Palace Bowl such as Bob Marley and the Cure, and I am sure this special event will be remembered for generations going forward!

Tickets go on general sale from 10am on April 5th.
