American indie rockers The National have added a second London show to their upcoming tour.
After years spent gaining critical plaudits The National seem to have broken through to the mainstream. Led by Matt Berninger’s baritone croon, the band’s thoughtful indie rock marks them out as provocative songwriters.
Taking time out, The National focussed hard on their latest album. Released last week, ‘High Violet’ received rave reviews with word of mouth hype pushing the band into the charts.
The National hit the Top Ten, with ‘High Violet’ outselling some massive names. The band are currently in the UK completing a handful of sold out shows with the Brooklyn group set to hit the festival season.
Upcoming digital single ‘Anyone’s Ghost’ is set to be released on June 28th. A highlight of the recent album, the track is set to gain a new lease of life with the forthcoming single already a favourite with fans.
Confirming details of an upcoming British tour, The National have been forced to add a second date to cope with demand for tickets.
Opening on November 24th, The National will perform at Bristol’s O2 Academy. Other dates include Coventry, Glasgow and Manchester with the Brooklyn group being forced to add a second London show.
Taking place on November 30th, tickets for the new show will go on sale shortly. Meanwhile, The National are set to return to their United States to complete a series of headline tour dates.
