The Magnetic North One Off Show

Alongside a documentary

The Magnetic North are set to host a very special one off night at The Southbank Centre's Purcell Room at on November 22nd.

There really is nowhere else on Earth like the Orkney Islands. One of the most naturally beautiful areas of the British Isles, the area is marked by a diverse and deeply idiosyncratic history which stretches beyond the viking Jarls.

The Magnetic North used Orkney as the inspiration for a recent studio album, the really-rather-wonderful ‘Orkney: Symphony of the Magnetic North’. Out now on Full Time Hobby, it matched evocative songwriting to real poetic sense of place.

Now the project are set to host a one off show at the Southbank Centre on November 22nd. Taking place in the Purcell Room, The Magnetic North will perform live – complete with choir, strings and horns – as well as screening their film ‘Hunting For Remoteness’.

Expanding on the album's subject matter, ‘Hunting For Remoteness’ seemingly matches the story of the creative process to a journey through the nether-regions of Orcadian history. A very unique event, tickets are on sale now. Here's 'Bay of Skail'.
