The Lumineers will play three huge outdoor shows in the UK next summer.
The American indie-folk group are back, ending the long wait for UK shows. The announcement comes a decade on from their debut album, with recent LP ‘Brightside’ smashing into the charts on its release in the opening weeks of 2022.
Clash spoke to founder Wesley Shultz at the time, and he reflected on the album’s lockdown origins: “There’s never been anything like this with everyone relating to this thing that’s happening collectively to each other. So it’s very strange. It’s divisive in the States. But it’s also pretty unifying, because everybody has this shared experience.”
Now the band are ready to make their next move. Following a UK arena tour this Spring, The Lumineers have stepped things up a gear with a trio of enormous outdoor shows.
The band will play Edinburgh Castle on July 5th, before hitting Cardiff Castle on July 7th. Part of a wider European run, the final UK show is Crystal Palace Park in London on July 8th.
The Lumineers comment…
“We are so excited to return to Europe and the UK again and to reconnect with our amazing fans. We’ll see you out there!”
