The Horrors have been forced to cancel two more shows as Faris Badwan continues to struggle with his voice.
The Horrors have spent the bulk of 2011 on the road. Releasing their third album ‘Skying’ to enormous acclaim, the London group have beefed up their live sound.
Completing a number of British and European shows, the band also played a number of festivals. Returning to the UK, The Horrors announced a typically lengthy series of nationwide shows.
However the strain is beginning to show. Encountering problems with his voice, frontman Faris Badwan was forced to seek medical attention.
Cancelling shows in Edinburgh and Liverpool, the singer had hoped a short period of rest would do him good. Sadly, though, it seems that The Horrors will now be forced to cancel yet more tour dates.
Tonight’s (October 21st) show in Oxford has been cancelled, along with a Bristol date on Sunday (October 23rd).
The band are currently attempting to re-organise the dates, with refunds available at the point of purchase. In a statement yesterday (October 20th) Faris Badwan explained that he is seeking medical attention in London.
“I’ve had some problems with my voice in the last few days and am currently on a train back to London to see a Doctor. We made it through last night’s show in Newcastle but I am worse today so have no choice but to cancel… If there was any other solution I would jump on it with more enthusiasm than Josh at a Snoopy-branded accessories fair.”
The Horrors have a number of shows left on their itinerary, beginning with a show in Portsmouth on October 24th. Hitting Brighton the following day, the tour winds up in Southend on October 27th.
All dates are subject to the ongoing health issues.
The Horrors are set to play the following shows:
October
24 Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms
25 Brighton Concorde 2
26 Nottingham Rescue Rooms
27 Southend Chinnerys
