Wakefield indie dons The Cribs have been added to the line up of this year’s Benicassim.
Held near Valencia in Spain, Benicassim has one of the most dramatic settings of any European festival. With the rolling countryside reaching the open sea, the festival is simply beautiful.
In addition to this, the superb weather and cheap flights have attracted more and more fans from Britain. Benicassim has a track record of securing top class performers, with last year’s event selling out in record time.
This summer fans will be kept entertained by the likes of Vampire Weekend, Kasabian, Dizzee Rascal and more. Benicassim organisers have confirmed a host of new additions, including some familiar faces.
The Cribs expanded to four last year, hooking up with boyhood hero Johnny Marr. The former Smiths guitar slinger added his glistening chords to ‘Ignore The Ignorant’ the band’s Top Ten new album.
Oxford math rockers Foals are putting the finishing touches to their new album, due for release this summer. The band have confirmed a slot at Benicassim which could see them preview new material.
Folk rockers Mumford And Sons are demolishing the British charts with their new album ‘Sigh No More’. The band are to bring their close-knit harmonies to Spain with a special performance at Benicassim.
With other new additions including Hot Chip, Echo And The Bunnymen, Two Door Cinema Club and more this year’s Benicassim looks set to be something special.
Benicassim is due to take place between July 15th – 20th.
