The Coral have been added to the line up of Edinburgh’s enormous New Year celebrations.
Scotland remains the home of New Year celebrations. The country prides itself on taking December 31st a lot more seriously than other nations, organising enormous street parties with plenty of music.
Each year Edinburgh braces itself for an influx of thousands upon thousands of revellers. The city’s Hogmanay celebrations are the stuff of legend, with an enormous fireworks display marking the changing of the year.
Already confirmed for the bill are all conquering trio Biffy Clyro. The Ayrshire band are set to play Wembley next month, the culmination of a remarkable year which has seen the trio charge the charts.
Due to ring out the old and ring in the new, the band will headline Concert In The Gardens. Biffy Clyro will be joined by some stellar entertainment, including a set from Liverpool indie group The Coral.
The band returned with a new album this summer, which was met by warm acclaim. The Coral are due to play a special set in Edinburgh on December 31st, part of a new wave of announcements.
The Charlatans are also set to perform, with drummer Jon Brookes hoping to be well enough to attend, while more announcements are still to come. Elsewhere, organisers have confirmed a special New Year’s Day (January 1st) show called Resolution Concert.
A new addition to festivities, headliners include KT Tunstall. Elsewhere, King Creosote will perform while the likes of Silver Columns, Glasgow newcomers Kassidy and more have been added to the line up.
