Taylor Swift has spoken on the Vienna terror threat that led to her show in the city being cancelled.
It’s been a turbulent period for the singer, who is taking her record-breaking Eras tour across the globe. Taylor Swift recently met with the families of the victims of the multiple stabbing at a dance event in Southport – the event had been themed around her music.
In addition to this, Taylor was forced to cancel a long-awaited show in Vienna, following concerns around a terrorist threat.
At the time, the American icon did not comment, but she has now broken her silence to discuss her feelings.
“I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London. My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us,” she wrote. “Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows.”

Taylor Swift completed her eight-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium, describing the experience as a “rollercoaster of emotions”.
She said: “In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to. My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that.”
