As the music gets under way...

T In The Park has opened to rainfall, with the first musical acts due onstage this afternoon.

Well, it's always a risk...

In the run up to this year's T In The Park forecasters warned that torrential rain could dog the weekend. The camp site at Balado opened last night, and with the main arena due to open this afternoon rain has been gently falling.

The weather is mixed, with thousands of fans making their way to Balado. In a chat with the Daily Record Aisling Creevey, a forecaster with MeteoGroup, warned that the worst is yet to come.

"Friday will probably be the best day weather-wise, but rain will always be close by" she said. "It will get more unsettled into the evening with rain pushing up from northern England and settling over Scotland".

"Saturday will be much the same and there could be some torrential downpours in central Scotland" she continued. "Sunday isn't looking greater either but there will be a few dry spells. It will also turn a bit cooler with northern winds making the area unseasonably cool."

Snow Patrol are set to headline T In The Park tonight (July 6th) with Mancunian legends New Order also on hand. Florence & The Machine will perform, while the Slam Tent opens with Sven Vath.
