T In The Park could be set for a wash out with the latest predictions indicating a threat of heavy rain.
Weather can make or break a festival. This year’s summer season got off to a damp start with rain at both RockNess and Glastonbury, however prolonged sunny spells raised the spirits of campers.
T In The Park, though, could be very different. The Balado event attracts more than 80,000 people each year and is a truly mammoth undertaking – one that is made a lot harder by damp conditions.
The latest weather reports indicate that the Balado site could suffer from heavy rain across the entire weekend. The festival site opens tonight (July 7th) with T In The Park getting under way tomorrow.
Currently, the site is already damp having suffered overnight rain. According to the latest reports from UK Weather, T In The Park will remain warm at 18 degrees Celsius today but will suffer from prolonged showers.
These weather patterns are set to continue across the weekend, with Saturday possibly seeing an outbreak of thunder and lightning.
According to Scottish newspaper The Herald there are even fears that flash flooding could affect Tayside and Perthshire. Coastal town Arbroath has already suffered from the downpour, and there are fears that the weather could affect the roads to Balado.
As a consequence, many fans have decided to play it safe. eBay has been flooded with unwanted weekend passes, with many deciding to make alternate plans for Scotland’s biggest festival.
The ClashMusic team, however, won’t be bailing out. We will be onsite throughout the weekend bringing you the latest coverage including news, reviews, interviews and extensive photo galleries.
T In The Park opens tomorrow (July 8th).
