Super Furry Animals London Show

Gruff Rhys & Co. in capital date

Welsh psychedelic heroes Super Furry Animals have confirmed details of a special one off show in London.

Formed by folk outlaw Gruff Rhys, Super Furry Animals have become one of the most ground breaking and respected acts in Britain. Through their multi-lingual stance, acid drenched songwriting and inventive videos the band have continually challenged themselves.

Taking time off last year to record their new album, Super Furry Animals sparked a series of outlandish rumours. Suggesting that their forthcoming record was set to last for 24 hours, the band kept fans entertained and bemused in equal measure.

Released back in April, ‘Dark Days / Light Years’ was a typically groundbreaking slice of songwriting. Backed by a mind-bending series of singles the album showed that Gruff Rhys was showing no signs of re-joining planet Earth.

Since then Super Furry Animals have toured hard. Jaunts up and down the country were interspersed with appearances at a number of festivals.

The group took to the stage at Scotland’s RockNess event knowing that fellow psych-out oddballs The Flaming Lips had been there the night before. Rushing through a career spanning set it was a close call to see who reached further heights of lysergic inspiration.

With a series of tour dates already planned to see out the year with, Super Furry Animals have organised a new London show. Due to take place in the HMV Forum the show will be a stand alone date, coming a full week before a Manchester show at The Ritz.

Super Furry Animals are set to play the following show:

October
9 London HMV Forum
