Rockabilly siblings Kitty, Daisy and Lewis are set to headline a new party by cult label Sunday Best.
Hailing from Kentish Town, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis found an inventive way to fill up those pesky rainy days. Brother Lewis built a home studio from vintage equipment in order to record the family band, who take their inspiration from the music of the 40s and 50s.
Inspired by the jump ‘n’ jive music of Louis Jordan, the siblings began working on some extremely unusual new music. Attracting the attention of Sunday Best, label founder Rob Da Bank soon fell in love with the trio.
Releasing a few early singles, the group’s quirky image soon found them attracting media attention. Entranced by their youth and obvious sincerity, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis’ media campaign saw them do a photo shoot for Vogue and also appearing on Blue Peter.
The band’s self-released album ‘-Z of Kitty, Daisy & Lewis: The Roots Of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ was followed last year by their debut LP proper. Self-titled, it captured the band’s ineffable live charm on record with Lewis Durham maintaining his control over the sound of the group.
The group are set to make a rare live appearance next month at a special party for their label Sunday Best. Kitty, Daisy And Lewis are due to play the Proud Camden venue alongside a host of treats from their label.
Lucky Elephant released their spectacular debut album earlier this year, and the band are due to perform alongside their jaunty label mates. DJ support is set to come from Sunday Best mainman Rob Da Bank, with The Correspondents and Sombrero Sound System also set to spin some discs.
Kitty, Daisy & Lewis are set to play a Sunday Best party on the following date:
