Summer Sundae Expands

Saint Etienne for event

Synth pop legends Saint Etienne are set to play this year’s Summer Sundae Festival.

Set in Leicester’s historic De Montford Hall, Summer Sundae has risen to become the biggest festival in the Midlands. A family friendly event, the festival boasts an eclectic bill with several exclusive performances.

Previously announced headliners include The Charlatans, brummie wordsmith The Streets and The Zutons. The Streets released their latest album ‘Everything Is Possible’ last year.

Strangely for a band who are set to headline more than one festival this year The Zutons are currently without a home – the band were controversially dropped by their long term home Deltasonic in late 2008.

Amongst the new additions to the bill are Saint Etienne. A British musical institution, the trio will be joined at the event by other acts such as folktronica guru James Yuill, drum ‘n’ bass mentalists Qemists and The Joy Formidable.

Also on the bill this year are London garage soul group The Noisettes and hotly tipped electro pop producer Dan Black. With his debut single ‘Yours’ making waves last year, this summer could see Black smash his way into the charts.

Summer Sundae Weekender is due to take place in Leicester’s De Montford Hall and Gardens from August 14th – 16th.
