Sufjan Stevens Returns To The UK

Host of tour dates confirmed

Sufjan Stevens has confirmed a series of rare British tour dates for later this year.

For a while there, it seems as if Sufjan Stevens might not release another record. Vowing to complete his States project, the seemingly endless series of concept albums took their toll on his creativity.

A series of despairing interviews saw the singer doubt if he would ever work again. Then just as suddenly Sufjan Stevens clicked back into gear, releasing a download only EP before dropping a new album.

‘The Age Of Adz’ was a wonderful if typically ambitious return. A defiant step forward from his earlier material, Sufjan Stevens swapped his pastoral style for elements of electronica which greatly altered his songwriting.

Confirming an appearance at this year’s Brighton event The Great Escape, Sufjan Stevens has now unveiled details of a rare British tour.

The songwriter has now visited the UK since late 2006, but the wait will soon now be over. Sufjan Stevens will open his European tour on April 29th, before arriving on British shores in May.

Opening in London on May 12th, the forthcoming British tour continues with shows in Brighton, Gateshead and more. Two nights in Dublin have been arranged, before the tour comes to a close at Manchester’s Apollo venue.

The tickets are sure to be in high demand, with Sufjan Stevens keeping fans waiting five years for a British tour. Tickets for all upcoming shows are due to go on sale from 11am on February 25th.

Sufjan Stevens is set to play the following shows:

12 London Royal Festival Hall
13 London Royal Festival Hall
14 Brighton Dome
16 Gateshead The Sage
17 Dublin Olympia
18 Dublin Olympia
19 Manchester Apollo
