One of Britain’s most forward thinking clubs, the Hacienda was perfectly placed to absorb the culture shock of Acid House. Always ahead of the curve, DJs such as Graeme Park and Mike Pickering introduced their audiences to tracks straight out of Detroit and Chicago.
With their ‘Nude’ night the pair helped to inspire the Second Summer of Love, ushering in Manchester’s reputation as a dance capital.
Still an in demand DJ, Graeme Park has never lost his thirst for new music. Yet the retro seams in dance culture keep drawing him back, with the rejuvenated popularity of rave infecting one of its founding fathers.
Asked to play a warehouse party at last year’s Vintage Festival, Graeme Park responded with a blistering set. Definitely not a Nude revival set, the DJ tore through his box searching out some fast and furious electronic music.
Captured live and direct from the decks, the Vintage Festival have uploaded the set to their SoundCloud page. As a special Friday treat ClashMusic have grabbed the mix and you can stream it below…
