Stornoway Add London Show

Storm Radio 1's Big Weekend

Oxford newcomers Stornoway have confirmed details of their biggest London show to date.

A fixture on Oxford’s open mic circuit, Stornoway suddenly seemed to pick up speed last year. Fans flocked to their shows, with esteemed independent label 4AD snapping the band up amid fierce competition.

With their debut album ‘Beachcomber’s Windowsill’ released today (May 24th) the group seem to be following in the footsteps of other folk influenced acts.

The likes of Laura Marling, Mumford And Sons and more have climbed the charts in recent months with Stornoway not far behind them. Fresh from selling out the ULU weeks in advance, the band are now set to play their biggest London show to date.

Taking place on November 17th, the show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire is one of the band’s most ambitious steps yet. Tickets for the date are on sale now, with fans rushing to pick up passes.

Meanwhile, Stornoway performed at Radio 1’s Big Weekend. The Oxford group headlined the ‘In New Music We Trust’ stage at the event, which this year took place near the Welsh town of Bangor.

Headliners included the likes of Florence And The Machine, Crystal Castles and more. A sign of things to come for the group, with Stornoway playing to a packed out crowd just ahead of the release of their debut album.

All of which is a far cry from the launch of their debut album, with Stornoway playing in a tiny pub in their hometown of Oxford. Lit only by candles, the show was open to just sixty people over the course of three nights.

Stornoway have confirmed the following show:

November
17 London Shepherd’s Bush Empire
