Stewart Lee To Curate Stage At Bright Psych Fest

He's picked some south coast talent...

Stewart Lee will curate a stage at the inaugural Brighton Psych Fest this summer.

The multi-venue festival takes place in the south coast city on August 30th, and features a diverse line-up drawing on different generations of psychedelia. Big-hitters such as The Horrors are in place, alongside the mighty Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, and shoegaze types bdrmm.

American outfit La Luz toast their recent album with a set at Brighton Psych Set, joined on the bill by NewDad, Juniore, The Bug Club, and SCALER (FKA SCALPING).

Comedian and noted music buff Stewart Lee will curate a stage at Brighton Psych Fest, taking the reins at Komedia. There’s a distinct south coast flavour on the bill, too, with The Bevis Frond, The Physics House Band, Alison Cotton, and Secluded Bronte taking part.

Stewart Lee comments…

“Brighton Psych Fest asked me to host and program a stage, which is reckless of them as the last thing I curated, the 2016 Prestatyn All Tomorrow’s Parties, went bust. And no, I didn’t get paid either. Nonetheless, here’s a mind-melting day out of acid-hued action from five of my favourite acts, with minimal onstage interruptions from me.”

He continues: “I’ve tried to skew the selection towards Brighton and Hastings talent because sometimes we don’t always acknowledge the geniuses on our own doorsteps.”

Bright Psych Fest takes place on August 30th. Tickets are on sale now.
