Steve Mason is set to see out the year with a new tour, fresh from a radical Andrew Weatherall re-haul.
A hugely influential songwriter, Steve Mason has released countless albums under a variety of pseudonyms. Yet there was something about ‘Boys Outside’ which seemed to strike a chord with the wider public.
The Scottish singer’s melancholic croon was in place, but the beats seemed stronger, more developed somehow. Steve Mason received widespread acclaim, with remixes coming thick and fast.
Hot Chip singer Alexis Taylor showed his appreciation with a brilliant remix of ‘Am I Just A Man’ over the summer. Now legendary producer Andrew Weatherall has released two radical dub re-workings.
The title track of his recent album, ‘Boys Outside’ is due to be released on November 15th. The release will come complete with two remixes courtesy of Andrew Weatherall, titled ‘Dub 1’ and ‘Dub 2’.
