It was a busy night at the annual ceremony...

Steam Down, Nubya Garcia, and Don Was scooped Jazz FM Awards at last night's ceremony (April 30th).

The London bash brought together jazz luminaries on International Jazz Day, matching the best of the old against the cream of the new.

Winners on the night included Steam Down, with the London collective's performance alongside Kamasi Washington winning Live Experience of the Year Award, while they also picked up The Innovation Award.

Nubya Garcia won UK Jazz Act following the public vote, with Sons Of Kemet's remarkable 'Your Queen Is A Reptile' winning Album Of The Year.

But it wasn't just the newgen gaining recognition. Don Was and Blue Note Records collected the prestigious PPL Lifetime Achievement Award, with Beatles drummer Ringo Starr on hand to congratulate the producer.

Eric Gibb won Blues Act, while Jacob Collier scooped the PRS for Music Gold Award in fine style.
