British indie troupe Starsailor are set to return to their hometown of Wigan for an intimate show.
Starsailor released their debut album ‘Love Is Here’ in 2001. Led by James Walsh’ soaring falsetto the group’s assured brand of songwriting saw them gather numerous plaudits.
Since then, indie trends have come and gone, and while Starsailor may have fallen out of favour with the scenesters their hard-core fans remain. Slipping under the radar, Starsailor have sold more than three million albums worldwide, and remain a hugely popular live attraction.
The band released their latest album ‘All The Plans’ earlier this year, with fans delighted by the searing return to form.
The group were joined by a number of celebrity friends on the album. The Killers’ lead singer Brandon Flowers dropped by the studio, while a version of the album title track with Rolling Stone guitar hero Ronnie Wood taking up guitar duties has also been released.
The new show sees Starsailor return to Wigan. The band are proud of their Northern origins, with classic track ‘Four To The Floor’ echoing the Northern Soul rhythms of the famous nightspot the Wigan Casino.
The show is the first in a new series of intimate events organised by cider company Gaymers. Entry is by competition only, for a chance to win just visit Gaymers’ Myspace page.
Those not lucky enough to win tickets will be able to follow the show as a live webcast, with additional bonus material featuring interviews and exclusive performances.
Starsailor are set to play a Gaymers Grassroots show in Wigan on April 26th.
