As The Glade festival draws near headliner Squarepusher has spoken out on his love of the inventive dance weekender.

This year is all change for organisers of The Glade. Beginning as the dance stage at Glastonbury, the event later broke free becoming a celebrated festival in its own right. Hidden away in the countryside, the festival soon grew beyond its original site.

Moving to a new site this year,

Underworld are one of the true legends of British dance music, with the duo having burst onto the mainstream with ‘Born Slippy’ yet still retained their credibility. The group are due to perform an exclusive set at this year’s Glade event and are due to be joined by some sensational acts.

Joining them on the bill is electronic legend Squarepusher. One of the mainstays on Warp Records, Squarepusher will be joining in the label’s 20th anniversary celebrations. Before then, however, the musical maestro will play a headline set at The Glade.

In a statement the producer said “The Glade is the best festival I have ever played in my life. It’s always good to play to people that are up for a party and don’t get too bothered about what algorithms you’re running!”

“It should be good fun checking out their attempts to translate my new emoto-prog / core- thrash songs into frenetic rave dance moves. Also, I might be premiering a new project there which depends on whether it’s anywhere near ready. Could be good!”

In preparation for this year’s event The Glade’s organisers have arranged for a free download mix containing tracks from some of this year’s top performers. Underworld kick things off, before tracks from Sub Focus, NAPT, Far Too Loud and more whizz by.

Perfect summer listening, the mix has been prepared with Trackitdown and shows off the typically eclectic mixture of acts destined for The Glade.
