Spiritualized will play their seminal album ‘Pure Phase’ in full next year.
J. Spaceman emerged from the wreckage of Spacemen 3 relatively unscathed, launching his Spiritualized voyage with a stellar debut album. It was second LP ‘Pure Phase’ however that saw his vision explode into intergalactic confines – a work of space rock majesty, it has gone on to influence generations of bands.
Turning 30 next year, ‘Pure Phase’ will be celebrated with a series of special anniversary shows. The album will be performed in full at shows in Glasgow, Manchester, London and Bristol.
Tickets will go on-sale this Friday, October 4th.
J. Spaceman comments…
“I think it’s quite extraordinary and I’d probably say it’s my favourite of the records I’ve made. The construction of it satisfied something in me that likes breaking the rules, not in any kind of grandiose way but there’s something in the process of that which really satisfies me. Each side of the stereo contains a completely separate mix. I checked the masters back and it still sounds like this extraordinary thing. It exists in its own space, it doesn’t sound like anybody else.”
