Spiral Stairs For Late Night Show

Scott Kannberg solo slot

Pavement star Scott Kannberg aka Spiral Stairs has confirmed a new late night slot on May 12th.

Collapsing in 1999, Pavement’s return is one of the most heralded live music events of the year. Beginning with shows in New Zealand and Australia earlier this year, the Californian alt rock dons are almost ready to come to the UK.

The band are planning to play a four night residency at London’s Brixton Academy Pavement played their final show at the venue with singer Stephen Malkmus handcuffing himself to the mic stand.

Since then the various members have embarked on vastly different careers. Forming a number of different projects over the resulting decade, Scott Kannberg currently records solo under the name Spiral Stairs.

Travelling to the UK with Pavement, Spiral Stairs have now confirmed a special late night show in London. Taking place after the alt rock dons perform at Brixton Academy, the songwriter will travel to the nearby Windmill venue.

Taking place on May 12th, the show will open at 11pm. The support cast are as yet unknown, with Spiral Stairs set to play a solo set.

Meanwhile, Pavement are gearing up to host All Tomorrows Parties. Long since sold out, the Minehead event will also boast appearances from the likes of Canadian indie rock collective Broken Social Scene.

Probably the best thing since sliced bread, Pavement’s instalment of All Tomorrow’s Parties will no doubt live long in the memory.
