Jerry Dammers hits the Barbican, win tickets

Founder of the seminal 2 Tone label and sometime Specials hero Jerry Dammers is set to play at London’s Barbican on the 10th March.

The show will see Dammers joined by an 18-piece orchestra for the evening, where he will pay homage to the cosmic jazz of Sun Ra and Alice Coltrane, by mingling their sounds with various other dub and 2 tone personnel.

One of the forefathers of the ska sound and the founder of its most influential label, 2 Tone, Dammers may not be re-forming with his ex-bandmates from The Specials(news) however this will be your chance to see him – and Clash Music has tickets up for grabs, too.

Dub innovator Coxsone Dodd, Exotica pioneer Martin Denny and many more will join the orchestra, with costumes, theatrics and visuals also set to play a big part in the evening.
