Somerset House Summer Series: Full Supports Confirmed

The concert series kicks off in July...

The full support line-up for this year’s Somerset House Summer Series with American Express has been confirmed.

The annual concert series takes place at Somerset House, a historic building situated mere yards from the river Thames. The courtyard rings out with music, and this year’s bill is typically eclectic, featuring some CLASH favourites.

Kicking off in July, the series moves from glistening neo-soul to biting indie rock, punctuated by jazz, UKG, and the underground sounds of New Orleans.

The first show takes place on July 11th, with R&B artist Pip Millett opening the series. In support, you can catch hotly-tipped South London songwriter Nia Smith, whose soulful sounds have won critical support.

A headline slot from Corinne Bailey Rae is something to savour, and those who get down early will be able to catch Ashaine White – the winner of the 2022 Ivors Academy Rising Star Award.

On July 15th the mighty Smino performs, and the Chicago hip-hop star will be joined on the bill by Dawn Richard – a supremely gifted multi-hyphenate, she translates the traditions and culture of New Orleans into future-facing alt-R&B.

Festival favourites The Amazons touch down on July 16th, with YONAKA in support; the following evening, Polish pianist Hania Rani will be supported by UK freedom music multi-hyphenate Danalogue (aka Dan Leavers).

This year’s bill is incredible broad, with July 18th bringing a headline spot from revered UK indie group The Big Moon; in support, you can catch Our Girl, whose forthcoming album on Bella Union is well worth looking out for.

On July 19th Scottish composer corta.alto joins funk / soul artist Cory Henry, while July 20th brings East London wordsmith and all-round top bloke Hak Baker to Somerset House – he’ll be joined by much-loved songwriter Bel Cobain, and a B2B set from UKG legends Heartless Crew and pivotal producer Toddla T.

In addition to this, American Express Unsigned will be hosting a free live music event on the Strand Aldwych, at the entrance to Somerset House, at 1pm on Wednesday 17th July, featuring Unsigned artists Kianja, Ben Kidson , Megzz and Riya Gahder.
