American shock rockers Slipknot have been forced to pull out of their scheduled appearance at this weekend’s Reading and Leeds festivals after drummer Joey Jordison broke his ankle.
The band revealed today that they have been forced to withdraw from the massive event, as well as scheduled appearances at Austria’s 3 Days A Week and Germany’s Area 4. Doctors have advised Jordison to rest for up to six weeks in order to recover from the injury.
Slipknot have recently announced a UK tour which is set to begin on December 1st. These cancellations are not thought to have affected those dates.
Slipknot released their typically cheery album “All Hope Is Gone” earlier this year, and fans were clamoring to catch a glimpse of their heroes who, in a rare moment of style consciousness, have decided to up grade their masks.
Reading and Leeds festivals take place this weekend (August 22nd – 24th).
