Manchester music icon Shaun Ryder has confirmed details of a very special one off show.
Shaun Ryder is unique. Part lyrical legend, part ‘Shameless’ extra the singer’s life has seen him swing between the twin poles of triumph and tragedy.
Rendered nearly penniless at the turn of the Millennium, the singer was left to scribble article for down market British tabloid The Daily Sport. Returning to music, Shaun Ryder’s return has seen renewed appreciation for his distinctive pop touch.
Sought after by Gorillaz for their track ‘D.A.R.E.’ a reformed Happy Mondays have become a well established touring act. Releasing one well received album, Shaun Ryder is now set to re-launch Black Grape.
As well as touring with two separate acts, Shaun Ryder is now due to play a solo set in Manchester’s FAC 251 venue. Taking its queue from the Factory label, the new venue is keen to support new music.
Throwing open its doors to new talent, weekly unsigned nights have seen breaking talent from Manchester take charge of The Factory. As well as this FAC 251 has proved capable of capturing the very biggest names.
Now Shaun Ryder is due to perform at the venue, with the singer expected to perform tracks from throughout his career. Taking place on Bank Holiday Sunday (April 4th) the show will feature Ryder backed by a new live band.
Tickets for the show go on sale from Noon this Friday (March 19th).
