Rolo Tomassi For Iceland Airwaves

Showcase line up increases

The line up for this year’s Iceland Airwaves has expanded with Rolo Tomassi set to appear.

Hosted in the frozen Northern city of Reykjavik, Iceland Airwaves is one of Europe’s most prominent music showcase events. Mixing international talent with the latest Scandinavian sensation the festival has earned a reputation for attracting cutting edge new acts.

Last year saw Iceland Airwaves dramatically downscaled amid government cuts. Badly affected by the credit crunch the country was pushed to near bankruptcy as its central reserve struggled to hold up its failing banks.

However 2010 sees the festival roaring back to life. Reflecting changing trends in music, the streamlined Iceland Airwaves has confirmed a host of new additions to its already bulging line up.

Sheffield spazz-core group Rolo Tomassi are set to appear, following the acclaim offered to their new album ‘Cosmology’. A savage yet addictive release, it benefited from production courtesy of Diplo.

A famously lively group, Rolo Tomassi’s performance will no doubt be a talking point of Iceland Airwaves. Elsewhere, chillwave producer Neon Indian is due to take part, with his debut album finally gaining a British release.

Other new additions include fractured dubstep producer James Blake, and Leeds based bass producer Ramadanman. The new additions join the likes of Robyn, Bombay Bicycle Club and more.

Manchester newcomers Everything Everything are set to perform at the festival, with their debut album gaining warm reviews. New single ‘My Kz Yr Bf’ is out now, storming radios across the country.

Taking place in venues across Reykjavik, more new additions for Iceland Airwaves will be revealed closer to the launch of the event.

Iceland Airwaves runs between October 13th – 17th.
