The Rolling Stones could be in line to perform a pair of shows at the O2 Arena.
The speculation surrounding The Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary is reaching fever pitch. Widely assumed to be planning a burst of live dates, the band recently confirmed that they have been rehearsing.
Mick Jagger even went as far as to post a photo of himself in the studio, leading some fans to muse on the possibility of new material.
Now American magazine Billboard has reported that The Rolling Stones could be planning to complete four live shows in November. According to ‘a source’ – so take this with a pinch of salt – the band will play two dates in Brooklyn followed by a pair of concerts at the O2 Arena.
Richard Branson and Australian promoter Paul Dainty are said to be in line to promote the shows, which would represent the band’s first live engagement since 2005 tour ‘A Bigger Bang’.
The Rolling Stones have yet to comment on the rumours, but Mick Jagger did recently confirm that something is in the works. “We’re playing around with the idea and had a couple of rehearsals,” he told the BBC recently. “We’ve got together, and it feels so good.”
Finishing, he added: “There’s things in the works; I think it’s definitely happening. But when? I can’t say yet.”
