Roger Waters Expands ‘The Wall’ Tour

More British dates added

Roger Waters has expanded his forthcoming anniversary tour of the classic Pink Floyd album ‘The Wall’.

Released in 1977 – the summer of punk – ‘The Wall’ was an enormous, monolithic statement. A concept album about the effects of fame, it became one of Pink Floyd’s most successful albums and spawned an epic tour.

Still used as a benchmark for prog hubris, the tour for ‘The Wall’ saw Pink Floyd built and destroy a genuine wall every night. Three decades on, frontman Roger Waters intends to re-visit the album and the subsequent tour.

Arranging a North American tour earlier this year, the singer confirmed a number of European dates. Demand for the shows has been huge, with Roger Waters now forced to add extra dates to cope with demand.

In addition to previously announced shows the songwriter will perform at London’s O2 Arena on May 18th. Elsewhere, Roger Waters has added two new shows at Manchester’s MEN Arena on June 28th and 29th.

Typically lavish, the shows are set to feature a 240 foot projection onto a wall built in front of the audience. Tickets for the extra shows are set to go on sale tomorrow (September 17th) from 9am.

Bizarrely, the tour comes as ‘The Wall’ slips out of iTunes. The contract governing the sale of Pink Floyd’s back catalogue has expired, with negotiations between the band and EMI breaking down.

Physical copies are still available, but ‘The Wall’ will be removed from online sale until a new deal is struck.

Roger Waters are due to play the following shows:
